The Doorway of Transformation
There is so much information out there in the world of spirituality and personal growth, it can be overwhelming trying to decide what the “right” thing to do is to ensure lasting happiness, peace, or enlightenment.

Something inside us yearns for truth, yearns for wholeness – to connect with something bigger then our individual selves. And so the quest begins.

But there comes a point on every quester’s journey when we realize that, even though we’ve climbed many mountains, and crossed many rivers on the path to enlightenment, we never really seem to get any closer. That much sought after final resting place of peace and freedom still seems to sit on the horizon, so close, but yet so far. And eventually, we may just feel like giving up.

How will we ever get there?!?

Here’s my answer:

Stop. Just stop.  

The only place that the experience of a journey towards wholeness can take place is in the Mind, and the Mind can never deliver the destination, because true freedom, peace, prosperity, and enlightenment are beyond the mind (though the mind is included within it). All the mind can give us is an endless experience of almost being there, which grows tiring after a while.

We can only find the truth by stopping our search for it, recognizing that it does not lie in any spiritual philosophy or practice, but lies in only one place – a place that is so close to us we overlook it constantly. That place is the Heart.

The Heart is our personal doorway to the Divine. Through it, we can have a direct experience of our True Nature, which already IS love, peace, freedom, and enlightenment.

But how do we access it?

Simple; we Open it!

The reason our hearts are closed, or partially closed, is because; since the time that we were small children, we started to cast parts of ourselves out of the heart, judging those qualities as not worthy for one reason or another. Soon the weight of all those unacceptable parts of us built up so much that the heart was forced closed altogether, leaving us feeling “shut out” or “abandoned” somehow. Like something very important was missing, but we forgot where we put it, so we began franticly searching for it down every avenue Life had to offer.

Opening the heart back up again is a process. It’s not something we can force using our willpower alone.

What we must do is carefully, and with great compassion, turn towards those aspects of ourselves that are “responsible” for all our suffering. Those parts of us we most want to overcome or get away from, which fuels so much of our seeking. And instead of trying to overcome them or fix them, we recognize that they are just wounded fragments of us that simply want to be let back into the loving embrace of the Heart.

When we can open to all the parts of ourselves, and invite them back into the unconditional Love of our heart, closing no more to anything we experience, then eventually, only the openness of Love will remain.
